Thousands of Pets Drown in Backyard Pools
With respect to pets, drowning in backyard pools is more prevalent than one might suspect. It is documented by veterinarians across the country that more than 5,000 of pets drown each year in backyard pools. Often, pets are alone around the pool and one of several things can happen. They intentionally get into the pool, they slip and fall in while playing or they are scared by another animal and fall into the pool. Although most pets can swim, they may not know how to get out of the pool, and they swim toward the wall where they fell in until they are exhausted, and drown. Older pets with medical issues, such as arthritis, blindness and old age, and handicapped pet are especially vulnerable. To safeguard his life, be sure your dog wears his HedzUpPets Watercollar™.

My 1 year old Labradoodle, Nyx, loves water, though she absolutely cannot swim! As someone said, she swims like a brick! She throws herself into the water at the dog park and I lose sight of her completely until she manages to push off the bottom, resurfacing for air. I have had a few close calls where other dog owners watching her have asked if she needed help. I could never stomach the thought of losing her to drowning or having her swept away with the ocean current before I could get to her, so I set out on a search for something to keep her safe and give me peace of mind.
I knew I wanted something for her to wear all the time while at the park or at the beach, because, once water is in her sight, there is no calling her back. However, in the heat of the summer, having her wear a full lifejacket just wasn't going to cut it. I found the HedzUpPets Watercollar online and knew it was the right choice. She can wear it even in the sun the whole time we are around water, and I know that, even if she gets into trouble in the water, the HedzUpPets Watercollar gives me the time I need to safely rescue her while not putting my other dog in danger (my Yorkshire Terrier, Ernie, who would follow me anywhere).
Thank you so much for this product. It brings the fun back into the dog park and playing in the water at the beach with my dogs!

How HedzUPpets Got its Start
Nora B., Staten Island, NY
Our 7 year old Labradoodle, Zoe, is like a child to us. We are new to boating and marina life this summer, and, of course, Zoe is always with us. We did not fully realize the dangers until one night Zoe (who, at the time, did not think she could swim!) fell between the dock and a houseboat. This space is no more than 14 inches wide, so you can image how critical it was. She went under water and luckily did not go under the boat (in which case she probably would have been a goner!). With the help of a couple of men trying to push the boat further away from the dock, and quick response by my husband, she was pulled out. I had nightmares about this for a week! After that weekend, I surfed the web for a safety solution, other than a full life vest which is not comfortable and very hot for her.
Your collar has been worth a million dollars to us! Zoe wears it comfortably ALL THE TIME when at the marina and on the boat, and it paid off last weekend. She, again, fell between the dock and our pontoon boat and I was by myself. She was flopping around, but her head stayed well above water and I was able to pull up a 60 lb. wet dog by myself!
Funny, some people think it is a fashion statement and one person thought it was to keep her cool, which it actually does. On very hot days I soak it in extremely cold water from melted ice in our cooler before I put it on her and it definitely makes her feel more comfortable. The collar has actually allowed me to give her swimming lessons and she feels much more secure and confident when in the water.
Thanks, Lynne. The HedzUPpets collar has been a blessing!
